As an award-winning writer, editor, and scholar, has tracked down politicians, hunted insects, haunted archives, undangled participles, deconstructed paradigms, and harvested taro with her toes. She has a doctorate from Oxford University, has served as a contributing writer or editor for several magazines, and is currently an Editor-at-Large for San Francisco-based Red Bridge Press. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and thousands of books in a little yellow house in Honolulu.
